Essentially, proofreading involves detecting and correcting typographical errors, grammar and spelling issues, formatting inconsistencies and making sure the text reads as smoothly and logically as possible. However, I believe it is also important to ensure the communicative function of the text is maintained by tailoring the language to suit the text type as much as possible.
I have many years experience proofreading a wide variety of texts, including academic theses, technical texts, publicity material and website content. I believe in being as meticulous as possible to ensure my clients' texts are of the highest quality.
